Ridley Jr. ABA Families –
The ABA Board of Directors continue to work with the Ridley School District and Ridley School Board to determine the best plan for the start of our basketball season. We have submitted permits to use the gyms, and waiting on the determination of what gyms and how much time we will be permitted. All decisions depend on the current COVID situation. We are monitoring what is happening in our area; and will only proceed if safe.
The Ridley Jr. ABA Board has decided to not have travel teams and all-star teams this year. We do not want to expose our players/families to teams outside our area. We understand that this is disappointing to many, but we feel it is the right thing to do. We will only run our in-house program this year.
In order to begin to prepare for the start of the season, we will open online registration on November 1st. Payment will not be due when you register. As soon as a final decision is made to start, we will notify you and ask that you go back into the online registration system and make payment. No player will be permitted to attend evaluations unless payment is made. We hope to be able to begin evaluations in December.
Please register early. All divisions will be capped at a certain number due to gym availability. We will not be able to accommodate anyone who is not registered and paid prior to evaluations, nor any late registrations and walk-ins.
We are establishing a COVID plan, and will be enforcing all restrictions. A few conditions for all families to consider is that all players/spectators will have to wear a mask in the gym. Also, only 1 spectator will be allowed to enter the gym with the player (no siblings, etc.). There will be no exceptions to these rules. We will be establishing additional conditions, and will communicate them to you in a timely manner.
